  • Where is International Psychology Centre located?

    The International Psychology Centre is located at 11-1, Wisma Laxton, Jalan Desa, Taman Desa, 58100 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

  • What are the operation hours of International Psychology Centre?

    We open from 9a.m to 6p.m on Mondays to Fridays, and 9a.m to 2p.m on Saturdays

  • Are all assessments/counselling sessions done in English?

    No. The patient can request for the sessions to be done in their language preferences

  • How long will the counselling and psychotherapy take?

    The number of sessions you have with a counsellor/ psychotherapist will vary dependant on the type of issue and your own needs. Normally sessions will range from 6- 12 times in a period of 3-4 months. 

  • Will there be any assessments before psychotherapy begin?

    Yes, there is. An initial psychological assessment will be done on your first appointment. 

  • How much do adult psychotherapy sessions cost?

    Initial fees for an adult individual is RM379. If follow-up treatments are necessary, the patients can choose to attend the continuous paid by session consultation or to purchase relevant packages.

  • How much do couple/joint therapy sessions cost?

    Initial fees for per couple/joint is RM479. If follow-up treatments are necessary, the patients can choose to attend the continuous paid by session consultation or to purchase relevant packages.

  • How much do child psychotherapy sessions cost?

    Child psychotherapy consists of a parental interview and child clinical observation, each costs RM379, with a total of RM758. If follow-up treatments are necessary, the patients can choose to attend the continuous paid by session consultation or to purchase relevant packages

  • Are appointments needed before visiting the centre?

    Yes. We operate by appointment basis. Kindly call contact the International Psychology Centre at 03-2727 7434, or email us at info@psychology.com.my to book for an appointment

  • How long does each session last?

    The duration for all session are 50 minutes long.

  • How would we conduct a session if I am unable to come to the centre?

    We would recommend having an online video session e.g. Zoom. We would send a payment invoice and payments can be made through debit/credit card. Once payment is made, an appointment can be proceeded.

  • Do you provide the learning ability assessment for kids age 6?

    Yes we do.


    At the kindergarten, my son is learning to read using phonics system. But when I want to teach him using the phonics in Malay language i.e Bacalah Anakku book, he tends to runaways and he said he don't understand what I teach him. Should I wait until he go to the Primary school and observe from there?

    - Early intervention is important to treat possible learning disability.

    When do you wish to bring your son for the said assessment?


  • What does your treatment program for OCD look like

    It involves evidence based psychotherapy such as CBT and Nutritional Diagnostic Lab Tests to identify chemical imbalances in the brain contributing to the OCD and resolving these with Natural Nutritional Medicine or Pharmaceutical Medicine. 

  • Do you provide treatment program for OCD look like

    Yes we do provide said treatments

  • Is your establishment accredited by the International OCD foundation ? (iocdf)

    No but we are accredited by the Malaysian Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Association, the Malaysian Association for Psychotherapy, the Complementary & Natural Medicine Associations of Malaysia which is a designated professional body for practice by the Ministry of Health, the International Society for Psychotherapy, Counseling & Psychiatry and the World Council for Psychotherapy.

  • Any doctor can communicate in Chinese?

    Yes we have psychologists that can do so.

  • What is the procedures/process after make appointment?

    Our Chinese speaking psychologist will see you at the appointment time.

  • How we know who is the psychologist to handle our case?

    You will be informed at the reception when you give your name.

  • Treatment under medication? Or just counseling?

    Both options are available; you can choose just one or both.

  • Psychologist can’t issue medicine, right?

    Right, so if you choose for pharmaceutical medicine, we can make the appointment for you to see our Chinese speaking psychiatrist who can prescribe medicine.

    Otherwise our psychologists trained in natural psychonutritional medicine can prescribe these if you prefer these together with psychotherapy (in depth counseling).

  • How do I apply for CBT course?

    Please submit to us our completed registration form with payment.


    As for the fee, do I need to pay lump sum or it can per month? 

    You can either pay in full before the course or you may do a 3 parts monthly payment with additional 6% surcharge and the 1st payment made before the course.


    Upon completion of this course, can I teach others or is there more certification that I need to take?

    In order to practice CBT including teaching others we recommend that you attain the MAP (Malaysian Association for Psychotherapy) level 1 practitioner membership license  which require you to attain 3 certification courses.
